(Matt 5:14-16，太5：14-16) 

Can anyone tell me what theme was for our church camp last weekend? 有人能告诉我上周营会的主题吗？“You’re the light of the world” 你们是世上的光. And it’s also the theme for OTBC this year. 这同时也是OTBC今年的主题。After the camp, some people dreamed dreams, 营会结束了，有些人得了梦，in which God was lovingly correcting them. 神借着梦慈爱地纠正他们。One brother eagerly wanted me to talk about this bible passage, 有个弟兄急切要我分享这段经文，and he asked, 他问我，“What does God mean when He says, ‘you are the light of the world’?神说你们是世上的光到底是啥意思？ because he had done good things,因为这位弟兄做的不错， like serving in the kitchen,在厨房里帮忙， and interacting with people from the morning services, 也与早堂聚会的会众交流，but yet he was still corrected in the dream for doing things in the old man. 但是神还是在梦中指正他在旧人里做事。 

Praise the Lord, 感谢主，Psa 25:9 诗篇25：9，says, ‘the humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. 他必按公平引领谦卑人，将他的道教训他们。” When we humble ourselves before God, 当我们在神的面前真正谦卑下来，He will correct us and guide us His way. 他会来更正和引领我们认识他的道路。Today, we’ll look at these two verses again. 今天，我们再来看看这两节经文，Matt 5:14-16…. May God’s Spirit speak to us and make His word clear to us. 愿圣灵对我们说话使我们明白祂的道。 

1, Know our identity. V.14知道我们的身份 14节 

v. 14, You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 你们是世上的光。城造在山上，是不能隐藏的。 Jesus calls us the light of the world. 耶稣称我们为世上的光。As a city on a hill can be seen clearly,如造在山上的城是清晰可见的， the true light expels darkness and shines brightly in the world. 如真光驱散黑暗在世上闪耀。Actually, Jesus Himself says,事实上耶稣自己说， “I am the light of the world. 我是世界的光。Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, 跟从我的，就不在黑暗里走，but will have the light of life. 必要得着生命的光。John 8:12约8：12” The Greek word light means anything emitting light, 希腊语 光有多种含义，发光体，light 光or the light, 那光or brightness 或明亮的光。Light is a part of Who God is. 光明也是神属性的一部分。Light is God’s nature. 光明是神的本性。The Son of God Christ says, 神儿子基督说到，“I’m the light of the world我是世界的光”, which means He stands in united with the Father. 意味着他与父合为一。Because God is the Light of the world. 因为神是世上的光。When Jesus Christ says He Himself is the Light of the world, 当耶稣说他是世界的光，it both means the outer recognition of His Father’s presence, 即意味着他的外在行为有神同在，and the inward dwelling of the Holy Spirit, 也意味着圣灵内的同在，by which people see the power of light expelling darkness, 借此人们看到了光明驱散黑暗的大能，and recognise God’s holy presence is with Christ Jesus并认识到神的圣洁与基督耶稣同在 which enables him to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and casts out demons使他可以医治病人，使死人复活，大麻风得洁净，赶出污鬼。However, I saw sorcerers and fortune tellers practicing miracles, signs and wonders in a powerful way in Asia when I was a non-Christian, 然而，当我还是一个非基督徒的时候，在亚洲，我曾看到巫师和算命的大显神迹奇事。 they healed people to some degree, 他们在一定程度上医人的病，they helped people find lost kids, 他们帮助找回丢失的孩子，they foretold people what would happen to them, 他们预言将会发生的事， just like those Egyptian magicians did in front of Moses. 就像在摩西面前行法术的埃及术士。

The bible warns us,圣经警示我们， “and no wonder, 这也不足为怪，for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 因为连撒旦也装作光明的天使2 Cor 11:14，林后11：14” so we can’t simply acknowledge the light of the world by outward good actions or powerful signs and wonders themselves.所以我们不能只是单通过外在善行或者神迹奇事来说谁是世界之光。 Actually, we have the ultimate example of light to look to, that’s our Lord Jesus. 事实上，我们有光的终极榜样，那就是我们的主耶稣。His sacrificial death on the cross lights the way for us to the Father, 他在十字架上的牺牲为我们指明了通向天父的道路，our darkness,我们的阴暗面， our sins, 我们的罪，our pride,我们的骄傲， our selfishness, 自私，and our disobedience are exposed by the Light, 还有我们的悖逆都被这光显明了出来，but we’re given the grace to turn to the Light and to represent the Light. 但神赐我们恩典使我们可以转向这光并且做光。 

The light of the world has also become our identity because of the indwelling of God’s Spirit. 因为圣灵内住，成为这世上的光成为了我们的身份。It’s not because of any good works that we (the sinful nature, 天然人or the flesh, 肉体or the old man旧人) do for God. 不是因为我们为神做了什么好事That’s why Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, 所以 弗2：8-9节教导我们， For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God你们得救是本乎恩，也因着信。这并不是出于自己，乃是神所赐的— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast也不是出于行为，免得有人自夸。 It’s through faith by grace, 是本乎恩也因着信，that we accept our identity. 我们接受这个身份– who we are in Christ.在基督里的身份: the light of the world. 世上的光。This’s what God sees in us through Christ. 神是这样在基督里看我们的。 

2, know where to stand. V.15 清楚自己的位置

15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.人 点 灯 ， 不 放 在 斗 底 下 ， 是 放 在 灯 台 上 ， 就 照 亮 一 家 的 人 。  Since we know who we are, 自从我们知道自己是谁，we’ve got to live out the position we’ve been given, 就要在被放置的位置活出应有的样式，that’s to give light to the world.就是把光带给世界 。We’ve gotta stand for what Jesus stands for,我们当活出耶稣所活出的，that’s to stand for truth and love. 就是活出真理和爱。We’ve gotta stand for what God’s Spirit stands for.我们当活出圣灵所要显明的。Eph 5:3-8 says, 3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 至 于 淫 乱 ， 并 一 切 污 秽 ， 或 是 贪 婪 ， 在 你 们 中 间 连 提 都 不 可 ， 方 合 圣 徒 的 体 统 。4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 淫 词 ， 妄 语 ， 和 戏 笑 的 话 ， 都 不 相 宜 ， 总 要 说 感 谢 的 话 。 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 因 为 你 们 确 实 的 知 道 ， 无 论 是 淫 乱 的 ， 是 污 秽 的 ， 是 有 贪 心 的 ， 在 基 督 和 神 的 国 里 ， 都 是 无 分 的 。 有 贪 心 的 ， 就 与 拜 偶 像 的 一 样 。 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 不 要 被 人 虚 浮 的 话 欺 哄 。 因 这 些 事 ， 神 的 忿 怒 必 临 到 那 悖 逆 之 子 。7 Therefore do not be partners with them所 以 你 们 不 要 与 他 们 同 伙 。for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. live as children of light从 前 你 们 是 暗 昧 的 ， 但 如 今 在 主 里 面 是 光 明 的 ， 行 事 为 人 就 当 像 光 明 的 子 女 。

It tells us that we’re light in the Lord,这里说我们在主里就是光，it doesn’t mean we’re perfect now, 不是说我们已经完全了 we still have the darkness of sin in our life which needs to be dealt with in faith,但我们老我的生命里还有很多暗昧的罪需要凭信心来对付， if we want the true light to shine through us.如果我们想要真光从我们里面发出。 We need to get rid of things like我们需要对付像: 1, sexual immorality 淫乱(including living together before marriage or any fornication or sexual sin.包括婚前同居，通奸或者其他性犯罪 2, impurity污秽 (unclean hearts,不洁的心思意念 or any sins including lies,或者别的罪如谎言 deception,诡诈 pride,骄傲 envy,嫉妒 malice怨恨, lack of mercy,无怜悯 lack of faithfulness不忠心, etc.), 3, idolatry拜偶像 (greed,贪婪 unbelief不信, arrogance自高, stubbornness顽梗) 4, words that do not show thanksgiving不说感谢的话 (gossip闲话, or judging论断, or dirty jokes黄色笑话, or accusing, or 控告condemning定罪). 5, disobedience悖逆 (no submission to God’s word or God’s authority) 对神的话或神的权柄不顺服。 

Darkness and the old way of life wage war within us,黑暗和老我在我们里面挑起争战 preventing us from being united with the true light,拦阻我们与真光联合。 we must be aware that even the Son of God Christ Jesus walks in the light not because of his own good deeds,我们必须知道，即使是神儿子耶稣行在光中不是因着自己的好行为，but because of his yielding to the Holy Spirit and his unity with the Father.乃是因着他降服于圣灵并与父合为一。 Christ testified, “I can do nothing by myself.”基督见证道，“我凭着自己不能做什么。” 

Following His example,跟随他的脚踪 we know that there will be a process to go through for us to show our faith to God and where we stand,我们知道对神的信靠和行出真理，需要一个过程， if we allow the true light to shine through us and among us. 如果要让真光从我们发出。Paul the apostle honestly testified that he had the same fight in his life.使徒保罗诚诚实实地见证，他自己的生命中就有过这样的交战过程, “for in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 因 为 按 着 我 里 面 的 意 思 。我 是 喜 欢 神 的 律  but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me但 我 觉 得 肢 体 中 另 有 个 律 ， 和 我 心 中 的 律 交 战 ， 把 我 掳 去 叫 我 附 从 那 肢 体 中 犯 罪 的 律 。”  

It seems to say像是在说, “I love God’s word in my heart,我心里爱神的话， but when I wanna love但当我想要爱人时, there’s another law of judgemental thoughts, 就有另一个论断的律，or of counting others faults,或者计算人家的恶 or of unforgiveness working in my heart又或是不饶恕的律在我心里运行; when I wanna look out for the interests of others in my heart,当我想要顾及他人的益处时，there’s another law of looking out for my own interests working in me心里就会有另一个先求自己的益处的念头出来, there’re in conflict with each other彼此交战, so that I’m not free to do what I want.我想行的行不出来” “When we say our identity is in Christ - the light of the world当我们说我们在基督里的身份是世界的光, we say we’re not defined by what we have or what we do这样说并不是凭着我们自己有什么或做了什么, we’re not defined by the things outside of us不是凭我们的外在, or what people say about us或别人对我们的评价, or we’re not defined by our success or failure,也不凭我们成功或失败。but defined by God’s Spirit inside of us而是单单凭着神的灵住在我们里面; but in our difficulties但当难处临到, when people around us boast about their wealth or their success or whatever当周围的人吹嘘他们的财富或成功时, there’s another law which once kept us in darkness working in our hearts.就有另一个曾把我们锁在黑暗里的律运行在我们心里。 Our hearts sour我们心里感觉酸溜溜的, and the fruit of darkness – sin然后罪的果子, pride骄傲, inferiority自卑, jealousy嫉妒, disobedience悖逆, lies谎言, and death try to rule in us, 还有死亡就会掌控我们so that we’re not free to do what we want from the heart. 以至于我们行不出心里愿意行的。

Therefore,Jesus says,所以耶稣说, ‘do not put the light under a bowl (or a basket).不要把灯放在斗底下’ A bowl refers to the sinful nature and its passions, wishes and desires.这斗说的就是老我以及老我里的一切邪情私欲。 Jesus is saying耶稣说的是, ‘The existence of ‘the bowl’ (the desires of the self) is to test your faith what you stand for.斗的存在（私欲）是要试验你信的是什么. Are you a person who is influenced by your circumstances or the people around you?你是被你周遭的环境和人影响呢？ so that you’re becoming more like them?以至于你就越来越像他们？ Or are you a person who is influencing the people around you?还是你是来影响你周围的人 so that they come to follow the Way you’re following?”以至于他们就来跟从你所跟从的道路？Then Paul the apostle goes on this使徒保罗接着说, v.13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 你 们 若 顺 从 肉 体 活 着 必 要 死 。 若 靠 着 圣 灵 治 死 身 体 的 恶 行 必 要 活 着 。14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God因 为 凡 被 神 的 灵 引 导 的 ， 都 是 神 的 儿 子. The bible clearly says that the old self within us belongs to darkness,圣经清楚的说到我们的老我是暗昧之子， we’re not to yield to it anymore, 我们不是再要去顺从它，but stand for what the Spirit of God stands for,而是要顺从圣灵所要我们去做的， just as the Son Christ did.如同基督顺服圣灵。 

3, How to let our light shine v,16 怎样让我们的光照出来，16节

16 In the same way,  let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. 你们的光也当这样照在人前，叫他们看见你们的好行为，便将荣耀归给你们在天上的父。 

A, Align with Jesus’ motives – walk in the Father’s love. 与主耶稣的动机一致：行在天父的爱中 

Jesus is called “the true light that gives light to everyone” (John 1:9). 主耶稣被称为 那光是真光，照亮一切生在世上的人。(约 1:9) Letting our light shine doesn’t simply mean mimicking Jesus’ actions. 让我们的光照在人前，并不只意味着模仿主耶稣所行的，Outward good deeds are not specific to one religion but to almost every religion. 外在善行并非某种宗教所特有，而是几乎所有宗教所共有，Buddhists, 佛教徒，Muslims, 穆斯林，and other religious people do good deeds as well. 还有其他宗教的信徒都做好事，Even Satanists collected clothes and donated them to KidsCan, 连撒旦教信徒也收集衣物捐给Kidscan, Women's Refuge 妇女庇护所，and homeless shelters,和无家可归者收容中心， as reported by NZ Otago Daily Times. 这些在新西兰OTAGO日报曾报道过。Would people see their good deeds and give glory to the Father in heaven? 人看到他们的好行为会归荣耀给神吗？Definitely NOT. 当然不会！ 

However, 然而，we really need to represent our heavenly Father by outward good actions. 我们的确需要行出看得见的善行来将父显明出来， But more is required than just that.但不仅止于此。 The gospel offers a radical transformation for our whole beings from the heart to outward actions. 福音带给我们由内到外的、全人的、彻底的更新，Letting our light shine involves a living relationship with Christ,我们的光能否照出来，涉及的是我们与基督之间是否有活泼的关系，in which we seek to know His voice, His character, and His will by our faith in obedience. 是否时常借着信而顺服，寻求祂的声音、祂的性情、祂的旨意。Look at Jesus, 看看主耶稣，when He came, 祂来的时候，eating and drinking with people, 与人一同坐席吃喝，it seemed He was doing the same things other people were doing. 所行的似乎与常人无异，But on the inside, Jesus had different motives for doing things, 但他内里做事的动机与人不同，whatever he did, 无论做什么，he did for the Father’s will to be done, 他为成就父旨意而做，the Father to be pleased, 为讨父喜悦而做，and the Father’s name to be glorified.  为荣耀父而做。

However, in Gen 3, 可在创世纪3章中，Adam and Eve displayed fallen nature, 亚当和夏娃展现的是堕落的性情，as soon as they had sinned, 他们一犯罪，they immediately did something to please the fallen self 立刻就开始做讨自己喜悦的事，which made them continuously walk in darkness. 这使他们一直行在黑暗中。In the natural, 在天然人里， we also do good things, 我们也做好事，we donate money, 我们捐钱，we give food to the homeless, 我们捐食物给无家可归者，and we help people when they are in need. 我们帮助有需要的人。But when you look into your heart, 可是，你若审视自己内心，you may find that you might be driven to do it out of fear or a shame-honour culture, 会发现驱使你做这些事的动机，可能是出于惧怕，或出于爱面子（文化），what people say about you? 怕别人怎么说你。 

You might be driven by guilt. 你可能是被负罪感驱使 。“I wanna make up for my mistakes, 我得弥补过错，so that I’ll feel better about myself”.让自己好受点。 You might be driven by other motives which are all about pleasing the self.或是出于其他讨自己喜欢的动机。 As a result, 其结果是，when people repay love with evil, 当别人以恶报爱时，we get hurt and turn to bitterness and negativity. 我们就受伤，生出苦毒和负面。But whatever Jesus does is driven by divine love, 但主耶稣无论做何事，他因神的爱而做，divine love drives out fear, 神的爱将惧怕除去，so that when people repay love with evil, 因而当人以恶报爱， he doesn’t get hurt or change his love to evil. 他也不受伤，他的爱不会变成恨。 

Jesus says主耶稣说, “I do not receive honour from men. 42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 41“我不受从人来的荣耀。 42但我知道，你们心里没有　神的爱。（约5：41-42）Jesus is saying, 他是在说，“why I don’t seek honour or glory from men, 为什么我会不求人的荣耀，is because the Father’s Love enables me to overcome any temptations, 是因父的爱让我胜过一切试探，the Father’s love enables me to be the Light of the world. 因父的爱让我成为世上的光。There’s no unforgiveness or any sin found in Me to quench the light. 不饶恕和罪，在我里面毫无所有，所以它们不能熄灭这光。And what you need to do to align with me is to be filled with the Father’s love and walk in it.”  你们需要与我合一的是，要被父的爱充满并行在父的爱中。So this is the mirror that we need to look at whenever we pray and ask the Holy Spirit to check our motives:因此，每逢我们祷告，求圣灵查验动机时，就需要这样照镜子： 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 爱是恒久忍耐，又有恩慈；爱是不嫉妒；爱是不自夸，不张狂，不做害羞的事，不求自己的益处，不轻易发怒，不计算人的恶，……凡事包容，凡事相信，凡事盼望，凡事忍耐。(林前 13:4-5,7) 

Are there compassion, kindness, patience and humility that drive me to do things? 是否是怜悯、良善、忍耐，谦卑在驱使我去做事？ Or have I been self-seeking or counting other’s wrongs? 我是否在求自己的益处、计算他人的恶？If so, repent and turn to His love. 若不是，悔改并转向祂的爱Or have I sought the transformation of my life through the gospel in everything I do? 我是否在经历的每件事上求的是生命的更新？If the answer is ‘no’, turn to focusing on the transformation of your own life instead of judging others如果不是，就转向专注你自己生命的改变，不专注论断他人好坏...Let’s get rid of the wrong motives hidden in our hearts through the illuminating power of the Spirit of truth in our prayers, 让我们借着祷告，求真理的灵光照，除去内心隐藏的错误动机 and allow the love of God to fill us and to guide us to walk in the Light of Christ.让神的爱充满我们，引导我们行在基督的光中. Joy will be ours. 喜乐就是我们的。

B, Keep His word in our hearts. 将神的话语存记于心 

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. 【诗119:105】你的话是我脚前的灯，是我路上的光。In other words, 换句话说，without the word of God in our hearts to guide us, 若我们心中没有神的话来指引，there’s no light for our paths.我们的路上就没有光。 Psalm 119:130a The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. 【诗119:130】你的言语一解开，就发出亮光，使愚人通达。Some version translated as “it gives instructions to the simple”. 有版本翻成“你的话指示愚拙的人”。 Who can unfold God’s words to us? 谁能向我们解开神的话? The Holy Spirit. 圣灵。We need the Holy Spirit to unfold God words to us, 我们需要圣灵将神的话向我们解开，and when the Holy Spirit  gives us revelation to understand God’s words, 当圣灵启示我们明白神的话时, it gives us light to shine on our way, 它就释放亮光照明我们的道路，and then we get to know what to do, or what not to do, 我们就能知道该做什么、不做什么，or what to say, or what not to say, 该说什么、不说什么。we then have the wisdom to make right decisions使我们有智慧做出正确的决定， about what to do or where to go,做什么或者去哪里，that’s why 1 John 2:27 tells us, 这就是为什么约翰一书2:27告诉我们： and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things. 【约壹2:27】并不用人教训你们，自有主的恩膏在凡事上教训你们。And when we’re given light to shine on our way through the unfolding of His words, 藉着神的话语被解开，我们的道路有光照耀，and we walk in it obediently, 我们顺服地行在其中， we then carry the light to the world. 就能把光带到世界。 Although people may not recognise it immediately, 虽然人们可能没有马上认出， like the twelve didn’t even recognise Jesus就像十二门徒甚至没有认出耶稣， and asked, ‘show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 还说:“求主将父显给我们看，我们就知足了。”Yet, God will make it clear when His timing comes if we humble ourselves before God like Christ did.然而，我们若效法基督，在神面前谦卑，神必在祂所定的日子显明一切。

C, Filling your lamp constantly. 给你的灯装满油 

In the ten virgins’ parable in Matt 25, 在马太福音25章十个童女的比喻中，Jesus tells us that the five foolish virgins’ lamps were going out主耶稣告诉我们那五个愚拙童女的灯要灭了， because they didn’t prepare enough oil for themselves. 因为她们没有为自己预备足够的油。 If we've got a lamp that's full of oil, 我们的灯若装满了油，our light will shine brightly. 它就明亮照耀。Jesus wants us to get filled with the Holy Spirit. 主耶稣盼望我们被圣灵充满。 He doesn’t wanna see any one of our lamps going out, 祂不愿看到我们的灯熄灭， and our light dimming. 我们的灯光暗淡。 In the parable, 在这个比喻中， the foolish virgins said to the wise,愚拙的童女对聪明的说：“give us some of your oil, our lamps are going out. Matt 25:8” 【太25:8】 ‘请分点油给我们，因为我们的灯要灭了。’ But the answer is: 但得到的回答却是: “You can’t get oil from others.” “你不能从别人那里取油。” You’ve got to pay the price, and then you can have it. 你必须自己付代价才能得着。 In the bible, Jesus said, 主耶稣在圣经里说， if we pray in secret, 我们若在暗中祷告， God will reward us openly; 神必在明处赏赐我们; if we give in secret, 我们若在暗中施舍，God will reward us openly; 神必在明处报答我们。if we die with Him, 我们若与祂同死， we will live with him; 也必与祂同活。 if we endure, 我们若能忍耐，we’ll reign with Him.也必和祂一同作王。So there’s a lifestyle to live in the sight of God, 所以在神眼中有一种生活方式， which enables us to carry light to the world. 使我们能把光带到世界。Is your lifestyle being changed because of the gospel? 你的生活方式正因这福音而改变吗?Do you pay the price every single day to get filled with oil, 你是否每一天在付代价努力被膏油充满，so that your lamp doesn’t go out?使你的灯不熄灭?

Do you wanna pay the price to get your lamp filled with oil, 你愿意付代价让你的灯装满油， so that your light won’t go out? 使你的灯不熄灭吗?Jesus is calling. 主耶稣在召唤我们 He has died 祂已舍命，and paid the full price for the forgiveness of our sins, 为我们罪得赦免付上了全部的代价， the Holy Spirt and the truth has been given to us, 祂已将圣灵和真理赐给我们， God’s love is with us 神的爱与我们同在，and it helps us to conquer, 祂的爱使我们得胜，what else do we need? 我们还需要什么呢?We need to pay price. 我们需要付上代价。we need to pay the price to empty ourselves 我们需要付出代价来倒空自己，and be filled with Himself – the Light of the world. 好叫我们被祂—这“世界的光”充满。It’s a life full of Jesus himself 只有被主耶稣丰盛的生命所充满掌权，that can shine brightly in the darkness.  才能在黑暗中照耀 光辉烈烈。
